Our step list:
1. A student fire an arrow towards a target using a rogatka
2. The Target move down along a tight rope, until it hits a car with magnet attached to its front.
3. The car moves forward
4. A second car, with magnet attached, moves towards the first car
5. A swing is pulled by a wire connected to the second car.
6. A third car partly falls off the table after it is pushed by the swing
7. The mouse trap door is closed (after the third car pulled a wire) and hits a ball.
8. The ball rolls in a track until it hits a stone
9. The stone falls down while pulling a wire which is connected to a will
10. The will spins
11. Needles which are hanged on the edge of the will explode a balloon with marbles inside
12. The marbles roll in a track and hit a glass with water
13. The glass of water falls
14. The water spills into a glass with marbles. The bottom of the glass, which is made of toilet paper, is torn after it gets wet, and the marbles fall into a bowl.
15. The glass is connected to a system with two wheels. When the glass goes up, a box full of stones goes down, and hit a swing
16. One side of the swing goes down, and the second goes up and hit another swing
17. The second swing is tilted to the direction of a line of dominoes.
18. A cylinder rolls along the swing and hit the line of dominoes and a tower of cards.
19. The domino and cards fall down
20. The last domino hits a ball
21. The ball falls through a pipe and hits a ventilator button
22. The ventilator wings start to spin and create wind
23. The wind pushes a boat along a water bath
24. The boat hits a bottle (inside the bottle there is vinegar. A peace of toilet paper, with baking soda inside, is connected to the bottle cork, and doesn’t touch the vinegar.
25. The bottle falls down, and the vinegar is mixed with the baking soda.
26. The chemical reaction creates CO2, and the pressure inside the bottle increases
27. The cork of the bottle is fired due to the high pressure, and it hits a plastic “house”
28. The house falls down and hit a weight.
29. The weight falls down and pulls a wire that passes through a pulley and attached to a sloping track.
30. The upper edge of the track is pulled up, and its slope increases.
31. Two cars with magnets, one located on the track and the second beneath it, start to move down.
32. The bottom car has needles that explode a balloon,
33. The cornflakes that were inside the balloon spills into a bowl. THE END!
Why think we should win?
We thought about creative ideas. We learned how to work in teamwork. We made an effort planning a machine that demonstrates many physics principles. We did not give up until every detail worked properly. Each time we encountered a new challenge we outdid ourselves and solved it.
Our suggestion for next year's challenge
1. Cut out cardboard (with Scissors)
2. Fill ice cream in an ice cream cone
3. Apply cream on a cake
4. Fill water in a glass
5. Tie a butterfly knot
